Summer School: Amazon India launches new edition of Machine Learning Summer School

Amazon India Has launched the 3rd edition of Machine Learning (ML) summer school, The objective of this program is to provide students with an opportunity to learn key ML technologies from scientists from Amazon. The e-commerce giant claims that the program will prepare students for industry-ready careers in machine learning.
Amazon Machine Learning Summer School: Availability and Eligibility
The free educational course will be held over four weekends in September. The curriculum will consist of eight modules that will provide students with an opportunity to acquire skills on key ML topics.
These topics include supervised learning, deep neural networks, probabilistic graphical model, dimensionality reductionAnd unsupervised learning, The curriculum will also focus on fostering a strong foundation in both theoretical concepts and practical applications.
ML Summer School It is open to all engineering students enrolled in Bachelor’s/Master’s/Ph.D degree from any recognized institution in India and they are expected to graduate in 2024 or 2025. Eligible students will be required to take an online assessment focused on the topics Basic ML Concepts and Mathematical Fundamentals. Like Probability, Statistics and Linear Algebra.
The top 3000 students will then be enrolled in the ML Summer School, where they will cover eight modules in classroom sessions over four weekends, with each session followed by live Q&A sessions with Amazon scientists.
Amazon Machine Learning Summer School: Key Features
Moving away from the traditional approach that emphasizes theory, Amazon’s ML Summer School offers an application-focused learning methodology. Participants can not only grasp the theoretical concepts but also gain practical experience, thereby preparing them for the challenges of the real world.

The program’s curriculum integrates practical applications, equipping learners with both knowledge and practical skills. In addition, Amazon’s ML Summer School also integrates existing science curriculum at universities with industry trends, and prioritizes hands-on learning for students from diverse ML backgrounds.
Amazon Machine Learning Summer School: Timeline
Since its pilot in 2021, Amazon ML Summer School development has been demonstrated. More than 3500 students participated in the inaugural program in which more than top 300 students got an opportunity to participate.
Building on this success, the program expanded in 2022 to include over 17,500 registrations from engineering students across India. Out of these, a select group of 2880 students were invited to attend the programme.
This year it is being expanded to include engineering students enrolled in any recognized institution in India and will have larger class sizes.
