Hamburg shooting: At least 6 dead, German media reports

BERLIN –

At least six people were killed and several others were injured in a shooting in the northern German city of Hamburg, Focus Online media reported on Thursday, citing the fire department.

Hamburg police said on Twitter that a major police operation had taken place in the Alsterdorf district and that they were investigating the background, but gave no further details.

Focus reports that the perpetrators are on the run, adding that emergency services and doctors are at the scene.
